Almost All Body Workers Miss Root Causes
How can you expect your physical therapy, chiropractic or whatever to hold if you go back to the same old posture standing and walking improperly, creating the same imbalanced muscles and stress on the joints and spine?
Most physical therapies, body work, chiropractic, etc., do not address root causes in modern lifestyle and are missing two key things
:
1. Primal normal movements like walking, standing and squatting that are a balancing therapy that prevents problems.
2. Primal normal movement of the tongue in its resting posture and swallowing that shapes the palate cranium, brain and all of posture. Orthodontics is often needed.
These two components are needed to correct the epidemic of slouched posture with forward hips and head, with a sunken chest, contributing to pain in the back, neck, and joints, as well as other health problems, even neurological and brain problems.
You would think experts would get this simple common sense.
I know of a professor of kinesiology, which is the science of movement, with posture that rather off.. He has no awarenss about normal primal movement. His focus is on therapy for injuries, not chronic developmental problems. It’s a medical model focusing on unusual events, a narrow slice of life.
Chiropractors that only poke bones into place also don’t train the muscles to move properly to hold bones into place. Many chiropractors teach movement, but not total body movement.
There are many movement therapies with sophisticated ways to release tension, but then they don’t take the extra step of teaching natural normal movements to hold everything in place.
There are at least two needed steps: some corrective exercise and then normal primal movements that combine all the necessary muscles in a practical way. Compound movements to integrate your system, not isolated movements working on where the symptoms showed up, but not necessarily the causes.
Posture Starts with the Cranium
Many in practitioners in the health field are completely missing the importance of the cranium, which is shaped by tongues sucking, swallowing, and placement on the roof of the mouth to expand the palate as one grows, making a large enough airway to breath at night especially to prevent snoring and sleep apnea. A narrow airway can also lead to forward head position that contributes to a collapsed chest and forward hips. You can see it in narrow faces, crowded teeth, over-bites, and open mouth breathing.
The correct movements are to learn to open the cranium with the fingers and orthodontic appliances.
Primal movements are tongue position or “posture” when resting including nose breathing, and swallowing.
Do It Yourself Correction of Cranium and Hips to Align Spine and Mind.
I show people correct movement that release tension from their cranium to sacrum or hips at the same time. A do-it-yourself cranial sacral treatment, if you know what that is.
It’s super relaxing. Your breath opens big and slow as a sign your nervous system and brain are balancing. Everyone is talking about “biohacking” the vegas nerve to turn on the rest and digest part of the nervous system—you can start here.
Get Your Walk On
After that it is easier to get your hips back to walk and stand properly.
And you need the right shoes without a higher heal and narrow toe box.
I love to walk as my feet role over lightly rather than thudding in resistance.
My hips move freely and in places I did not feel before.
My chest is out without trying.
Primal walk is efficient, bouncy, confident and sexy.
