Brain Massage
A most relaxing thing to do would be a brain massage.
However, you can’t do that because you have a skull that makes you too thick-headed.
But there is another way: you can pump the cerebral spinal fluid, CFS, from your hips up to your head, that has a natural rhythm or flow. The CFS is enclosed in a sack of membrane called the meninges or sometimes referred to as the “dura” for one of its layers to nourish the nervous system. It works as a whole system from top to bottom and in interface with other systems. The bones of the spine and cranium protect this and the nervous system, but can also restrict it when out of alignment due to chronic muscle imbalance or injuries through impact to the head, back, etc. The fluid of the cfs is also fed by the blood and lymph systems. The breath can also contribute to CFS movement and the slight opening and closing of the sutures or crack lines in the skull. All these things work together as a system.
In fact, you can do it yourself in a way that provides many more benefits than a massage, including permanent gains in alignment of posture to eliminate pain and make movement more efficient, powerful and sexy. It can reduce the deep stress in your nervous system that is caused by your posture and lack of movement. I go down to zero tension and worry, so blissed. If you could feel for 5 seconds what I feel....
One example of this is how going for a walk can help you relax and think more clearly: your hips pumps the liquid of your CFS up through your brain. Muscle action also moves lymph and blood circulation that can feed your CFS. Dancing and spontaneous movement and shaking increase the range of movement vastly and probably allows your body’s intuition to work out tension and constraint.
And there is much more that you can do to relax very deeply, even if you are just lying down and too weak to go for a walk. You can open the spaces between bones to give the CFS more room to flow.
Movement may relax us because stress produces a flight or fight response that involves muscular tension as if contracting and preparing to run or fight. If that physical response is not followed through, then the brain may say, “not safe” because the action wasn’t taken, and it may contribute to the “freeze” of the stress in the body.
In fact, just exercising alone does not provide all the benefits: It is necessary to work along the spine to remove constraints through jammed cranial bones and vertabrae, this is more closely what I mean by a brain massage. The CFS needs to move to distribute nutrients and waste internally and with the blood and lymph.
When you increase circulation I believe you get more detox of heavy metals like mercury and aluminum that are a pernicious root cause of health problems that can be devastating and hard to perceive. Metals poisoning can dysregulate your nervous system into a permanent stress mode causing sensitivities, exhaustion, and inability to sleep or heal. General detox is necessary but alone might not reach deep into the spine without circulatory improvement, especially in people with chronic fatigue that cannot move much. At night the brain is detoxified by the “glymph” system, similar to CFS as a kind of lymph system of the brain.
The ideal routine would release all constraints or weak links in way that is customized for the individual. You have to work around pain. There may be an order in which one thing does not relax until another relaxes first. One general rule to healing may apply here: from the top down and inside out. That means the cranium first, and the spine first and out to the muscles.
The ultimate cranial work is actually orthodontic to expand the palates and increase molar height, which you can understand by studying the new orthodontics. On your own you can open your cranium with your fingers and tongue. I cannot give explanations or instructions in text and don't have a video.
The whole system is the cranium, the neck, chest, lower back, iliopsoas complex, sacrum, and possibly stretching hip muscles, even down to the feet. The mechanisms are a combination of traction, flexion, extension, putting muscles in neutral to release, and last and of least importance, stretching, which done prematurely forces muscles against resistance and antagonizes them.
The answer to all your questions is YES. Does this help me with my scoliosis, back pain, neck pain, sciatica, etc? All yes. There can be additional details for each case. The reason you ask is because you do not fully understand a system enough to conceptualize your symptoms at root cause level. Hardly anyone does. I specialize in systems theory which is why someone like me who began as a rank amateur and essentially a dilettante or generalist can come up with better solutions than all of the experts that could not help me and often hurt me. The specialists have their place as they know details I lack, but hardly anyone has a big enough picture to bring it together for complex problems where different system interface. Most body workers are completely clueless about the cranium, and some that are don’t understand that the bite is the root cause within the cranium..
Mind and body are more connected than we know. The mind is in the brain, the brain is in the body, the mind may be in the body more than we know, driven by the heart, gut feelings, etc. No one knows definitively what the mind is. We can experience what works and practice is often ahead of theory. I have offered here a mostly mechanical explanation for how we feel good, which is enough for now. Massage your brain by pumping your hips, neck, and whole body.
