Toxic Load versus Nutrients
Big Picture Strategy
Toxicity is perhaps the major underestimated cause of modern chronic illness.
The other side of the coin is nutritional deficiencies and quality since nutrients are needed to detoxify and protect against toxicity, so they are directly related and equally important.
Toxins are defined as chemicals, metals, mold, light, and electronic pollution or electro magnetic radiation.
3 dimensions of total toxicity are:
I include infection as a subcategory of toxicity.
The problem with infection is that it fights back and grows back if you don’t get it all out. Pathogens even adapt to ineffective treatments, as is often the case with antibiotics. Some natural ways can be stronger than pharmaceuticals.
Strategy should begin with nutrition to strengthen detox pathways so the body can heal itself.
Strategy may also involve treating gut infection to improve digestion.
It is often necessary to eliminate allergies and intolerances to otherwise healthy foods that you need for detoxing, like raw dairy and eggs, some of the most allergenic foods yet super stars of healing. Allergy elimination can be very complicated and individualized so no random advice will be given here as I have writing about that elsewhere that anyone can find a few clicks away.
Binders are secondary, and should be understood as outside intervention medical style treatment, not rebuilding the body. Binders are helpful and necessary but you usually you can’t rely on those alone..
Total toxic load requires rebuilding detox pathways to remove all toxins, Detox pathways include the glutathione lead antioxidant network, methylation, glucaronidation, NFR2 regulation, bile flow, lymph flow, macrophages, just some key examples. You don’t need to know all the details in order to “take this for that.” Whole foods can cover more bases than you know.
You need to know what nutrients you lack to rebuild all pathways: proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, sunlight, etc. I have used energetic testing to determine my personal nutritional deficiencies that are the weak links that hold back everything from basic energy production in the mitochondria to specific detox processes. Really there is no clear distinction. As mitochondriacs say, “redox before detox.” That means total energy production largely encompasses detox and prepares to handle more aggressive specialized detox symptoms because you have more energy and pathways working to eliminate--like bile stimulating bowel movements.
If you understand what I just said, you will not ask for personal advice or “what do I take for X?” The quality control metric I offer for your reading comprehension is: If you were about to ask then you didn’t get it. Read again.
This is a strategy session, not a heavy chemistry lesson or a guide to shopping.
It’s a paradigm shift because the way we make decisions about health is what determines results.
No: “just skip the theory BS and get to the “take-aways.” That leads to the health process as random disconnected shopping experiences, rather than systems thinking that is truly holistic.

3 dimensions of total toxicity are:
- Body Burden: what’s inside you that has accumulated for years.
- Environmental Exposures on a daily basis: electronics, light, air pollution, mold, etc.
- Infections that produce toxins, endotoxins, that contribute to body burden.
