Autoimmune & Dysregulation in a Holistic Perspective
Is it possible that autoimmunity and dysregulation are is are attempst by the immune system to do the functions of other nutrients when one is deficient in nutrients so the immune system does it imperfectly with symptoms and reactions?
First of all this is question of method, whether to
- Understand symptoms in the larger context of the other parts of the body as in holistic or systems thinking.
- Look for the answer in ever smaller things under the microscope often leading to genetic interpretations.
I think much of science errs in the later reductionist approach.
People are not generally in the habit of systems thinking of connecting the dots of how everything relates because it is exhausting. This is about multiple levels of contexts and conceptual thinking, not just precise identification of chemical reactions.
For example, might the immune system be trying to compensate for a lack of nutrients like antioxidants or free radical quenchers to neutralize toxins? White blood cells of the immune system can sequester toxins or attack to destroy cells damaged from toxins. The later appear to be the immune system attacking the body. There may be a better way if the body could detoxify itself with antioxidants before the cell dies so that it does not have to be removed.
Detoxification occurs through many nutrients B vitamin methylators, minerals, cholesterol as an antioxidant, etc. Many nutrients are at least indirectly involved in detoxification. All nutrients are involved in cell functioning.
It is known that antioxidants like glutathione (if you can find a form that works) reduce symptoms associated with autoimmune like inflammation. This is because glutathione addresses a root cause of toxicity and helps detoxify.
The question is what are root causes?
Root causes by defining have to be from outside the body: as something attacking or missing.
Missing nutrients.
Invading toxins or infections.
Because body parts are not causes of their own problems, unless you think it is genetic, which is rarely is, but is often the default explanation when people have to make an excuse for not knowing
Genetics is actually epigenetics changing in the environment, the context of the body as a system in its larger environment.
We have to think with discipline not go back to all the lazy arguments lost in the details without a coherent framework.
It’s more a matter of context of the whole system. Intolerances often involve complex issues of gut balance, like oxalates and histamines, which can be resolved with the exact variety of probiotics, which are very hard to determine for individuals, which is why people usually fail. I can’t explain how to solve your problems in comments.
