Healing Gut Complexity
The gut is perhaps the most unknown, complex and important part of the body.
The gut from mouth to anus includes 25 feet of small intestine and 5 feet large intestine or colon.
The surface area in the gut is much larger than that the skin, equivalent to a foot ball fields some say, due to its contours of villi, little protrusions.
It needs this area to absorb the nutrients passing through.
The gut surface is thin and delicate with a fast turn-over of tissue.
When that is broken with loose junctures between cells we get leaky gut that floods the body with toxins such as LPS or whatever is in food, that burden the immune system and liver, and lead to inflammation and all kinds of reactions and failure to regulate the body as a whole
The thin layer of only one cell thick includes a mucin coating a thin mucous created with good bacteria feeding on food.
The main nutrient for the colon wall is butyrate that enable contractions for peristalsis.
For all cell membranes phosophatydle choline is important.
There are actually more bacteria in the gut then cells in the body.
There’s is also more genetic variety there then in our cells.
Bacteria and yeast are actually foreign organisms that have found a way to work for us when everything is going right.
They digest and make food as a second diet when in balance.
They also signal to the immunes systems white blood cells where pathogens and toxins are.
They can produce things that kill bacteria and parasites on their own.
Despite this infinite complexity and unknowns, it is possible to design complete solutions for the gut by covering several categories of things, when each thing is energetically tested for the individuals (look up energetic testing).
Probiotics
A relatively few bacteria and yeast can shift the balance of the entire gut by being aggressive colonizers that push out pathogens and make way for all the other good ones.
Prebiotics
Fibers that produce some of the probiotics and nutrietnts like butyrate fuel for the gut with many functions even as a hormones to regulate everything. You may need probiotics first to digest fibers since many people are so intolerant.
Immune Boosters
This includes post biotics nutrients produced by probiotics but not taken in live form but as metabolites.
The immune system is centered on the spleen that increases recycling of white blood cells in times of crisis to fight pathogens and toxins. It’s not just the liver that that detoxifies.
Liver Bile Flow
The bile flow helps sterilize the upper gut in cases of SIBO and increases peristalsis to relieve constipation.
Good bacteria help recycle bile so you have enough.
Bile is necessary to get toxins out that have to be first processed by conjugation in the liver. Think antioxidants to do that.
Gallbladder and liver pain is all about these things.
You need detox to be working to handle die-off when killing infections.
Nutrient Deficiencies
Basic nutrients are for all cells of the gut, immune system, liver, etc.
Vitamins, minerals, protein, fat, sunlight, etc.
This includes thiamine B1 for stomach acid to start digestion (don’t assume you can just take a supplement)
I consider probiotics also nutrients, but of a special kind that produce other nutrients.
All deficiencies must be addressed because we are only as strong as our weakest links.
Killing Infections
This can also be necessary and works best with all the above as stubborn cases have proved you can’t just kill an infection.
The order of doing things is not the same for everyone.
Probiotics start working before infection is gone because parasites don’t eat probiotics. That is a myth created by people who fail at using probiotics because they don’t know how to test an individudal’s needs and exact products that work.
There is an overemphasis on just killing things due the medical model or allopathic medicine that is not defined by natural but by “taking this for that” rather than holistic systemic analysis of all the above
Eat to energize, detoxify & immunize.
