Selena: Politics of the Feminine, Faith, Downfall
My other page Selena's Love explains her femininity.
This page is about the implicit politics of feminity and why the feminine needs masculine ;protection.
I also explain her downfall on a deeper level.
The feminine has become sorely missing in our society. I have not seen it explained this way because femininity has been under attack from a dominant narrative that has tried to replace femininity with feminism :helping women compete with men by being more like men, often at the expense of men.
Things that don't challenge the liberal feminist narrative are more recognized.
The multicultural politics of affirming Mexican American identities and the success of a woman in a largely male Tehano music scene. Those are fine accomplishments but the liberal framing of these issues often involves resenting whites and men. Selena was not like that and I'm not saying Latinas are generally like that, but the propaganda we are all exposed to is like that. Stating those achievements that please liberals does not explain how Selena achieved those things: through feminine love.
Selena was a Christian, not a feminist.
She was against abortion and pre martial sex.
"Whose the most important person in my life? I would have to say God."
Her family are Jehovah's Witnesses. Her husband Chris said they did talk about faith.
Selena's was not explicit in her music, but her father posted on social media bible quotes and there is one on her grave.
Selena made a fatal mistake in not listening to her husband, Chris, after they agreed they would go over together the next morning.
Selena got up early and went alone.
The night before Yoland called to say "come over alone." That's a huge creepy red flag.
Yolanda had already shown her a gun.
Isabella said she finally found the missing documents in her hotel room after not knowing where they were the day before, a lie that makes no sense.
Selena and Chris had been ignoring the feedback friends had given them about Yolanda. First, from her designer Martin Gomez who explained she was creating conflict with everyone and driving Martin and others to quit.
Then, her father gathered the evidence of embezzlement.
They should have called the police especially after the gun was presented by Yolanda in a veiled threat.
Chris said they initially dismissed the criticisms of Yolanda because they did not want to believe it and were too busy and tired to deal with it.
Why was Selena so naive?
She may have been under a curse or witchcraft from the ring given to her by Yolanda. Objects are meant to create bonds.
Although Selena was feminine in many ways, she was not fully feminine in her marriage in the biblical sense of being a supporter and helper. She was the superstar alpha female. Chris said she was stubborn and always got her way. She was far from being the biblical submissive wife following her husband's lead. Selena was not always agreeable and mutual. Her family's style was, "who's the dictator?" after her father. She was in rebellion against her father, which I think was correct.
Chris tried to lead her where appropriate: not going over there alone.
Chris had questioned the decision to open the boutiques on the basis of time. Being too busy can lead to bad decisions.
This lack of cooperation with husbands is a very deep problem that goes all the way back to The Fall.
The first thing Satan went after is that: to get Eve to lead Adam, which took her out of her feminine and into her masculine. This outside of God's plan of husband leading wife: woman leading is to mislead men. Women are more "open" to other ideas and more easily misled. I always think of women naively gobbling up psychic readings, which, even when partly accurate, are demonic. This reversal of God's roles undermines both masculinity and femininity. This is a problem we see with many couples in America.
Women corrupted are often misled by a "Jezebel spirit" in Christianity, that' s a demon. This results in being controlling, manipulative, critical and man hating. It is the spirit behind narcissism. It can affect men, too, but men's passive side when facing a Jezebel is called an Ahab spirit, after the king who was led around by the balls by the pagan queen Jezebel in the bible story.
Jezebel succeeds in corrupting most women she goes after, which is extremely common in America. She was not able to fully get at Selena, who maintained many feminine, loving qualities, so Jez used Yolanda who was a controlling, nasty, liar and thief, doing the devil's work by seeking to deceive and destroy. The voices in her head were overpowering and drove her to murder Selena, exploiting the open doors like jealousy, envy, etc.
Selena was just 23 and had some growing up to do.
I love Selena but I also love humanity and want to help my sisters who may recognize some of themselves in her. This is a huge problem right now.
