A Healthy Immune System Can Kill Infections, Parasites
This point is so basic and well known it does not need to be proven, even though many people act like there is no such thing as an immune system as they go about trying to just kill infections when that alone has not worked for years.
Macrophages of the innate immune system, for example, destroy proteins in worms like pirana fish surrounding their pray to gobble it up.
One way to detect parasitic infection is elevated eosinophils, although that could mean other things.
Root causes of immune weakness include:
Nutritional deficiencies so that not enough immune cells are made.
Toxicity draining nutrients by requiring more nutrients to detoxify.
Stress directing energy toward fight or flight rather than rest and immunity.
Weak digestion from all of the above, including damage from the parasites.
Weak immunity also includes not enough good bacteria or probiotics to signal to immune cells where the infection is. Kiran Krishnan founder of Microbiome Labs has good videos on this and how the immune system works.
Probiotics are also essential to producing many nutrients for all cells, including the immune system and it’s organs for producing white blood cells, etc. Nutrients produced by bacteria include B vitamins, beta carotene, vitamin K, and short chain fatty acids like butyrate that are fuel for the colon and a key hormone-like substance all over the body.
Species like Akermansia help renew the mucosal lining for a good barrier against leaky gut.
Many people complain that they can’t just kill infections but they keep trying year after year.
They can’t see that they are stuck in the allopathic paradigm of using an external medical style intervention, even it is all natural. Natural is not enough. Even some natural things can kill good bacteria. Very few people actually believe in the immune system because they don’t really know what it is.
SIBO or small intestine bowel overgrowth, for example, is proportional to a lack of healthy bacteria. Really understanding this calls into question the linear strategy of clear first and repopulate second.
It is more simultaneously like two feet walking together if local bacteria are part of signally where the infection is, repairing the gut lining and producing more nutrients to boost the immune system to gradually take over the fight.
The immune system is more diverse and well coordinated than herbs and things we take to kill infections.
In a holistic or systemic approach the entire body has to be strengthened.
This is done through all basic nutrients for every cell in the body: all parts of the immune system and liver detox for clearing die-off, etc. Addressing nutrient deficiencies is part of all healing for immunity, detox and energy to get through it all.
In fact, some infections are mutations of healthy yeast or bacteria into pathogenic forms as a direct result of nutrient deficiencies. This is called dysbiosis or an imbalance of the terrain that creates infection endogenously or weak immunity to external invaders.
I consider probiotics as nutrients, although they are separate living things that go on to produce nutrients from indigestible fiber, etc.
Good gut flora or probiotics are essential to immunity.
The question at this point for many people is: Why have they not worked for you?
The main reasons are:
- Not targeting the right ones
- Not enough
- Not enough foods with prebiotics to keep them reproducing on their own in greater variety.
