Health, Gluttony and Faith
I think many Christians need to take care of their health and not wait until there is a crisis for which they need prayer.
The most obvious sign is obesity.
Some Church members bring sweets and junk foods to social gatherings.
They show their love by pushing deadly sweets.
Just a little bit doesn’t matter, but they’re 40 pounds over and getting fatter.
Like a little fornication or adultery once in awhile.
Worse because sex is not always bad but junk food is.
Imagine if people talked about gluttony as much as they talk about sexual sin.
So and so F'ed so and so makes the news (fornicated, haha, gotcha!)
Not so and so was seen eating cake again when they are so heavy they can barely walk.
Gluttony is the sin rarely discussed..
People are giving into weakness and making decisions based on feelings.
These foods are Satan’s little helpers to weaken spiritual warriors.
Food can also be an emotional addiction that needs to be healed.
Health problems can indicate a problem in ones overall faith.
Part of the emotional problem is self-sabotage or not being able to do what is good for oneself
Another reason for failure is that the devil and demons distract and fragments the mind, as John Ramirez says.
Prayer is not a substitute for doing things right in the flesh world accord to God’s design of our bodies.
The history of evangelism has many examples of people who died young like in their 50s because they did not take care of their body.
Kenneth Hagin said that Jack Coe was said to be practicing gluttony by eating too much fried chicken especially at revival meetings.
Aimee Mcpherson healed hundreds of cripples on special days that required trucks to haul away wheel chairs and crutches. But she pushed herself so hard she died of sleeping pills just before her 54th birthday in a hotel in downtown Oakland, California.
I know a pastor with gift of prayer healing that is obese he has trouble walking.
He would like to figure it out but can’t focus even when I offered to help him for free.
Understanding the science of health is one way to honor God’s design of our bodies.
In Corinthians it says your body is God’s temple, not your temple.
We should eat in accordance with nature not by immediate taste and craving as the equivalent of selfish desire.
My health science is guided by prayer to figure what direction to look since there is too much science to know where to begin.
Part of the fall in the Garden of Eden I believe was about putting other knowledge about how the world works above faith and prayer.
We cannot do everything through science and then master the universe.
The human is not a hackable animal as proponents of the new world order believe.
With a greater commitment to health we could have more healthy believers to pray over others rather than being the ones needing the prayers.
Let's name gluttony as a sin and commit to a healthy foods and lifestyles so we perform in life and faith at a higher level.
The first problem is sorting through all the different theories and basic decisions and mistakes like buying a supplement for every symptoms, rather then using nutrients rich foods to address nutrient deficiencies more effectively.
Just a starting point for customized diets, which i write about all the time.
Eat to energize, detoxify & immunize.
