Avoid the Noon Sun?
I am finding little benefit from the noon sun, which is 12:00-3:00 here in Michigan centered around solar noon 1:30 pm daylight savings time.
The Swiss solar doctor Rollier said avoid noon and focus on a two hour period well before that, 8-10 am.
We know that UV is more dominant with less Reds during the noon period.
It seems this community might be ignoring the downsides of UVs oxidative damage because we are reacting to the idea that UV in all sunlight causes cancer.
We know that we need red to prepare for purple exposure to form the enzyme catalase that reduces oxidative damage from purpley, UV.
We also get some UV from the other times of the day when it is not dominant and may be enough.
I have learned to feel what is going on. Noon period sun is more stingy, like oxidative damage is occurring, whether I got sun in the morning or not. I notice I get brown spots on my face.
The warm of sun can feel good at any time so this can be deceiving.
Optimal for me seems sun centered around 11 am or 4 pm with solar noon at 1:30 feels optimum. That’s 9:30 and 2:30 when solar noon is exact noon.
25 minutes seems to be an optimum amount for someone who has to go inside to get back to work, like me.
I supplement with lights, the only products I tolerate are far infrared, FIR. I know science says other slices are necessary, 630, 660, 810, but that does not mean it is possible for technology to deliver them. Experience of technology is the bottom line, science is not a religion to be believed despite what observation about results says.
I use the FIR from RELAX SAUNA brand as the most tolerable for EMR, and, beyond that, relaxing.
Relax Sauna brand of silver tent Sauna at 1500 watts. .
Relax Sauna table lamp at 200 watts.
Relax Sauna medical lamp at 800 watts.
I said it four times so no one has to ask like they always do if I only say it once because some people can’t read. When I tell them to read again they act offended like it’s ok to be lazy and demand others’ time to compensate.
There is a Facebook group, if people ask for more info I don’t mind providing that.
I am also trying to sense whether using FIR is best at exactly the time of day it is dominant is best, so avoiding noon for red lights, may also be wise to follow circadian rhythms exactly.
