What Irritates the Gallbladder?
It seems to me that the simplest way to explain gallbladder problems is that the bile from the liver has not neutralized the toxins that then irritate the gallbladder.
1. The function of the gallbladder is to regulate bile flow from the liver into the small intestine so that it is poured out onto fat to help digest FAT through emulsification: breaking down fat into smaller parts to be digested by a pancreatic enzyme lipase.
2. The function of bile is also to remove toxins processed by the liver.
3. Bile also sterilizes the upper intestine of infection to prevent conditions like SIBO.
To neutralize toxins the liver has to conjugate and reduce (use antioxidants), for example.
The liver has many detoxification processes including
Root causes of health problems always come back to deficiencies of basic nutrients for every cell the body for every organ and function.
Deficiencies vary by each individual.
Every deficiency is a weak link and the body is only as strong as its weakest links.
I believe the body can heal itself when it has all the nutrients it needs combined with movement and rest.
Often liver gallbladder flushes use just a few nutrients like polyphenols from olive oil to focus on the visible symptom gall stones. Gallstones are a symptom pattern but binding the toxins upstream is the real root cause. The downside is that you have to do some kind of fast to flush, which starves your body of nutrients it needs to detoxify the liver. This is often experienced as intolerable and weakening by people with nutritional deficiencies.
A high cholesterol diet is eventually needed to produce bile flow.
However, fat may be hard to tolerate at first because the gallbladder is not working and is needed to emulsify fats for digestion: break down into smaller parts so the pancreatic enzyme lipase can digest them.
Thus, the need for other nutrients for liver detox are needed to make bile flow cleaner with neutralized toxins.
Also, just stimulating bile flow alone does not solve the gallbladder problem of processing toxins in bile. So, for example, a coffee enema my stimulate bile flow more than it helps bind up toxins and thus worsen symptoms. Process flows must be balanced.
Weak link symptoms and nutrient deficiencies are highly individual so general recommendations are not something I give in social media comments.
I can’t guess what a complete stranger needs.
“Take this for that” is a failed paradigm.
These problems require evaluation and planning for a complete solution.

- Methylation with B vitamins
- Antioxidants: glutathione, polyphenols, etc.
- Use of sulfur
- Minerals like selenium that neutralize metals like mercury everywhere in the body.
- And much more.
