Adapting to more Beef in the Diet
Beef is a one of the most strengthening and healing foods.
So much so that some people eat only beef.
Short of going totally carnivore, I want to discuss some of the problems that may arise when transitioning to more beef in the diet.
One may feel worse due to imbalances with eating more beef if other changes aren’t made.
This is called a paradoxical reaction when you feel worse from something that could make you feel better if you do it the right way with all the cofactor nutrients for balance.
pH Imbalance
Since beef is a very acid food it is standard practice to take extra alkaline minerals for balance.
On the lion diet is just salt, like even 10 grams a day.
Potassium and magnesium are very important minerals.
On the original Adkins Diet from decade ago he recommended sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium
Fat Digestion
Many people problems digesting fat due to liver, gallbladder and bile flow problems.
This has to be treated separately with nutrients not just for bile flow but all the antioxidants and nutrients that the liver uses to neutralize toxins so the bile does not hurt the gallbladder or cause constipation.
These people may have to eat low fat beef at first.
High fat beef is ideal. The fat actually has cholesterol that is used to form bile flow ironically, but beef fat is not always the best source in this state.
Protein and other Digestion
Low stomach acid can make digestion in general weak, which is especially noticeable with protein. Some people feel better when they stop eating meat due to this problem, but it’s usually a short term gain that leads to further long terms problems
Low stomach acid can be caused by low vitamin B1 / thiamne.
Nutritional Deficiencies
Any nutrients that are lacking can weaken your whole system.
Every mineral and vitamin deficiency should be addressed to make any diet work.
As we make one improvement and get more energy, we also burn other nutrients at a faster rate and this can create new deficiencies with new symptoms. If you don’t understand this is part of the process you could get hopeless.
All nutrients must level up as you progress.
