Circulate Nutrients In, Toxins Out
Move: everyday movements, therapeutic, workouts
Circulate: lymph, blood, cerebrospinal fluid
Align: spine, hips, feet, shoulders, head, teeth.
Relax: sleep, nervous system regulation, parasympathetic activation, workout high, peace, bliss.

Relax: sleep, nervous system regulation, parasympathetic activation, workout high, peace, bliss.
These are all connected dynamically in ways that are rarely discussed.
The key to relaxing in all its forms is circulation, which requires movement that is aligned rather than restricted by bad posture like the usual S curve slouch. .
What does circulation do?
Circulation delivers oxygen and other nutrients.
Circulation removes metabolic waste and toxicity to make way for nutrients to be delivered.
Lack of circulation tells the brain that parts of the body are suffocating or starving, triple that for the brain itself.
Lack of circulation and or nutrients to be delivered through circulation tells the body that something is wrong and it must do something. So the brain’s hypothalamus produce stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline for the fight or flight reaction to ‘get up and do something’ like movement that stimulates circulation.
Stress hormones also increase thinking more to solve the problem.
The stress is the brain response seeking regulation between activity and rest parts of the nervous system. When something is missing sometimes one cannot rest fully until the solution is found like nutrients that are used during sleep otherwise the function of sleep is pointless.
Circulation is about distribution of nutrients: eating is not enough.
Often it is the lymph that is the weakest link, and closely related the cerebrospinal fluid inside the spinal fluid and cranium: Because these need movement of muscles to move lymph pushing from the periphery and with an increase in breath to move it around the organs.
Going for a walk or working out is a way to increase circulation but not a complete solution and not always the right solution especially with low exercise tolerance or when overtraining.
Alignment refers to bones including the head, which are moved into place generally by muscles.
Alignment can constrain circulation.
Muscle moves bone into or out of place.
Bad posture, S curve posture, means that muscles have uneven strength and usage so some are tight and tense with poor circulation.
The bottom of the hips, the pelvic floor is one such area that develops many problems because hips are misaligned: interstitial cystitis in women and prostatis in men, for example, are both pelvic flow dysfunctions from poor circulation from poor alignment from poor muscle movement. This can create other symptoms like urinary problems.
The symptom is not the issues, it’s the context of the system around it and its ability to heal and normalize through circulation and movement.
Its very difficult to visualize exactly how this works, but not that difficult to solve.
Hip movement also affects the head as the cerebrospinal fluid flows a whole from hips to head. I know because I have released tension in the hips for the most relaxing head buzz you can imagine.
Brain circulation is constrained by compressed sutures, the cracks around bones.
The main thing constraining the cranium is underdeveloped dental arches like the upper palate maxilla. Aside from orthodontic expansion, there are ways to open the sutures immediately although temporarily with fingers and tongue. This is also extremely relaxing.
I just described therapeutic movements working along the spine that are impossible to describe here.
Larger exercise movements can also move both the spine and lymph by moving more muscles.
The feelings of relaxation are from the brain not giving you stress signal because you have solved a problem of circulation. Regulation is about when to move and eat, and when to rest to allow the benefits to be utilized.
I want to give analogy to illustrate 3 parts of health: Eat, Circulate through aligned movement, and Regulate activity and rest.
The body is like a corporation:
Production is like production of energy in the mitochondria through food, sunlight, etc.
Distribution is circulation of nutrients through body fluids blood, lymph, cerebrospinal fluid to the final customers the cells and the person as a whole.
Management is the brain’s regulation or coordination of who does what where when how, and allocate rewards when systems create results by functioning as a whole.
The best managers are engineers who understand how the work gets done as a whole.
Engineers think in flow charts of how the parts relate, that’s systems thinking which is the basis of being truly holistic.
Engineers use science to create practically, operational knowledge: how to design solutions, quantify features, implement fully and measure results continuously for quality assurance.
Managers that are bean counters based on financial training that mainly count cost inputs and financial returns—tow sides of the black box of the organization but they lack knowledge of systems to understand what is going on inside it.
They are missing customer needs and satisfaction and how it relates to each step in the processes of production and distribution.
The medical system is like that with inadequate understanding of systems and thus mainly measure symptoms. For them the problem is fragmentation from overspecialization of academic research. Their strength is the view from the microscope but have trouble putting it all together as the whole body, lifestyle and environment.
