Eat to Detoxify
versus
9 Weak Ideas
Detoxification has two parts, directed at:
- Body burden or toxic load. Nearly everyone has metals and chemicals, and maybe moldy mycotoxins that accumulated for a lifetime.
- Current environmental exposures include metals and chemicals in the air and water, electronic radiation, and artificial light.
Detoxification is a lifestyle because it takes so long to remove the body burden that accumulated for decades. It’s a long, gradual process.
Detoxification occurs primarily through nutrients to boost your many natural detox mechanisms within each cell and organs that specialize in detox like the liver and lymph.
I must drive home the distinctions between effective detoxification and detox in the old medical paradigm. Distinctions must be clear because learning is not absorbing like a sponge, it is replacing old with new, and integrating logically and contextually, with people generally thinking they understand before they do because they are still partly stuck in the old ways. You have to do it to know it.
9 Problems with the old paradigm:
Fragmented thinking. The medical paradigm is based on fragmented thinking that feeds the supplement industry and outside intervention as treatments separate from how the whole system of your body functions. This can still be done “naturally,” which many people think makes it an alternative, but natural is not enough.
Cleansing these are usually short term programs, like using herbs. While these can be helpful, detoxification must be built into the diet and done continuously and gradually.
Binders like charcoal, zeolite and chelators like dmsa or edta absorb toxins but do not rebuild the body’s capacity to detoxify and heal itself. These can be helpful but are not a complete solutions.
Outside intervention like binders do not simultaneously produce energy as nutrients can, for example, minerals perform many actions in the body and help detox by displacing metals that occupy receptor sites where minerals should, like iodine versus chlorine and fluoride found in tap water.
Not strengthening and energizing. The focus on nutrients helps energize people to tolerate detoxification. Nutrients alone can easily push detoxification faster that is comfortable anyway.
Cleansing foods: Some people think fruits and vegetables are cleansing while meat and dairy are just building or even heavy and toxic. Actually, some detoxifying nutrients like zinc are mostly from animal foods. Raw fat from dairy and eggs is highly detoxifying, building, and protective of tissues.
Fasting is not for detoxification of environmental toxins: it is for reducing metabolic waste, conditioning to recycle proteins, upgrade cellular efficiency, hormonal regulation, or to lose weight. Removing an atom of toxic metals like mercury may take more than 100 nutrient atoms or molecules to extract, bind, process and escort it out.
All chemistry and no physics. Chemistry often breaks down to physics, as illustrated by antioxidants or more precisely, free radical scavengers: atoms or molecules that donate electrons to neutralize free radicals like mercury Hg++. The plus signs represent a positive charge which means they are missing electrons and therefore steal electrons from other molecules of your body thus damaging them—this is one from toxicity takes. Electron stealing is happening millions of times a second in chain reaction firestorms. The body fights back with nutrients like selenium or vitamin C that donate electrons to reduce Hg++ to Hg to neutralize it, or some larger molecule locks-up the positive charges and bind it to transport mercury out of the body.
The body is electrically conductive. The environment is electrical and electronic pollution or radiation from wireless and wired has the effect of stealing your electrons that you need to detoxify things like mercury.
Sunlight is not just for vitamin D: the sun generates electrons in your body, Nutrition is also the physics of light.
Detoxification is electronic warfare: a battle of total toxicity versus total nutrition.
Generic Remedies is “take this for that” thinking, It labels a symptom or objective, detoxification, and then assumes it will work for everyone. This is the way of the supplements industry and medical practice. It is backed by a model of science that seeks to isolate variables (fragmented thinking) and then make generalizations across many cases.
Health seekers and clinical practitioners need a different strategy that revolves around the individual.
The new paradigm is systems thinking that acknowledges complexity—it is holistic. It realizes that individuals have unique complex needs. There is a actually a new paradigm of applied science that does that, it can be considered a form of engineering thinking now call six sigma, or quality improvement. This is customer focused solutions: start with needs to design solutions. Not hammers seeking nails as under narrow specialties. It’s also better science overall with systems analysis, root cause analysis, and statistics superior to academic probably theory
Ironically, design engineering requirements require energetic testing that is usually not considered scientific. I’ve explained energetic testing elsewhere that is easy to find.
The starting point to detoxify is to identify nutritional needs: the right diet, nutritional deficiencies, food intolerances, and as many upgrades as possible to higher performing foods and supplements.
