Why BP Meds Don’t Work
High blood pressure is compensation for resistance in the circulation system and is trying to keep you alive.
The body has equilibrium processes and if you try to second guess what is the best solution for those immediate circumstances then you are likely to make things worse.
There is growing evidence even recently presented in places like the New England Journal of Medicine the meds like beta blockers don’t work to make people feel better.
In patient discussion groups you can find widespread complaints the range of meds.
Edema or water retention all over the body even up to the heart and lungs can be a source of resistance leading to breathing problems, pulmonary edema and congestive heart failure: congestion from the liquid around the heart.
This is a kidney problem: failure to excrete liquids and often sodium in particular that retains water.
They never think the kidneys are the cause. They have no concept of toxicity damaging kidneys lowering their capacity to urinate off water and wastes.
A higher heart rate and pressure is needed to maintain functioning with the kidney obstructed by toxicity until the kidney is detoxified.
It is possible that this situation could exhaust the heart and kill you.
Protection against exhausting the heart is higher food consumption especially meat to keep the heart going at this higher level. If the gut is good you can eat as much as you need, I have experienced this.
If the pulse, for example, is near 100 beat per minute that’s like being on a fast walk 24/7.
A slow run could be at 120. That’s constant exercise.
People who don’t understand these causes only think about stroke.
I will give an example of one nutrient that helps protect against both kinds of stroke: sulfur.
Hemorrhagic stroke is protected through a strong vessel coating called the glycocalyx that is built with cholesterol sulfate.
Ischemic stroke comes from various clots include plaques including oxidized or unutilized cholesterol due to a deficiency of its cofactor sulfur. I’ve written about this over and over so not going to detail it every time—find my writing click, click.
Sulfur with cholesterol in the glycocalyx also holds the electrical charge in the capillaries to make blood flow and takes the load of the heart—the new theory of cardiology I already explained before.
To make sulfate to join with cholesterol you need nitric oxide, which also plays a role in the blood stream in polarizing the blood: keeping it thin in the middle of the vessels balanced by the thickness of gel glycocalyx. NO is not just a vasodilator like people think, treating it like a medication.
Sunlight is one way cholesterol and sulfur are made into cholesterol sulfate, which then construct an electrical circuit to use the sun’s energy that is turned into electrons.
There’s a lot more to it than that but this is just short post.
